Jahni de Villiers, director at Labour Amplified, provides this protocol to be followed with regard to COVID-19.

• Carry• Identify vulnerable employees, such as those older than 60 and those with one or more underlying comorbidities.• Divide employees into smaller teams. If there are any positive COVID-19 cases, it is easier to rotate teams.• Provide for physical distancing measures in the workplace. Employees must arrange the working environment to ensure that there is a minimum distance of 1,5m between people.• Maintain strict hygiene standards. Promote regular and thorough handwashing by employees, and make sure that employees have access to facilities where they can wash their hands with soap and water.• Promote good respiratory hygiene in the workplace. Employers must provide their employees, free of charge, with at least two cloth masks to wear while at work.• Ensure that symptom screening for COVID-19 is carried out before the start of work each day. Ensure that any positive cases are reported weekly to the National Institute of Occupational Health.
