Waking up on the maternity ward, I squinted in the bright hospital lights.
‘Mummy’s awake,’ my mum Sian, then 48, said softly.
Slowly lifting my head, I saw the precious bundle in my boyfriend Steven’s arms.
I’d been put under general anaesthetic ahead of a caesarean. But now, seeing my baby girl for the first time, the worry of labour suddenly faded away.
At 7lb 1oz, with lightblonde hair and bright-blue eyes, Iylah Grace was perfect.
It was 14 February 2019, and Valentine’s Day seemed like a fitting day for my girl to be born.
