Creative carving

lease could you ask one of your experts for their opinion on this object? It is roughly 29cm tall and is very heavy. It is intricately carved on what looks like it could be ivory (but is probably some sort of synthetic look-alike) and is mounted on a black stand. Sadly, one of the elephants’ trunks has broken but I do have most of the relevant pieces. It has been in my possession for nearly 40 years and was given to my late mother in the early 1970s. I understand it was one of a pair that had been in a house in
