Stitch Workshop Cast On Stitch

Cast On Stitch, also known as Ring Picot Stitch, is mostly used for stitching flowers and is commonly found in stumpwork and Brazilian embroidery – a type of surface embroidery that uses rayon thread instead of cotton or wool. The stitch involves holding loops of thread on one needle or two held together (ideally, milliners or chenille needles due to their long length and narrow eyes) before removing one needle and pulling your thread through the loops with the other needle. This creates a curved, raised texture that looks just like a flower petal.
