FAILED BRASSICAS

This year I had one bed of mixed brassicas that completely failed due to club root. I bought some of the plants from a garden centre so perhaps I imported the problem. I accept that I cannot grow brassicas on that bed for many years to come but I have two questions. Can I grow other crops on that bed? I’m thinking potatoes in the coming year as I haven’t grown them there for three years.

Do I have to take extra precautions not to spread the club root virus to another bed on my tools, boots etc.? Sue Stanford, Surrey
