COLD FRAMES, CLOCHES, AND SAVING CASH!

With spring propagation in full swing I quickly run out of growing space for my pots and trays. Most seedlings benefit from some protection from the elements in March, and cold frames and cloches are ideal for plants which are not frost sensitive. Although they do not prevent freezing if the weather is very cold, these simple protective measures keep off heavy rain, wind and most pests, encouraging healthy growth and earlier cropping. They are very easy to make yourself from odds and ends.
