FROM ONE TO ANOTHER

There are days’ shooting and there are shooting days, aren’t there? I think we all know that. We’ve been there.

Any day’s shooting is a good day but some shooting days are better than others. Or perhaps a few are less good than the rest. Is that a better way to put it? But some shooting days are just epic. A cut above. In a different league. Cut from an altogether finer tweed.

So the question arises: “Where does the magic come from and what are the things that make the difference?”

In my view, the shooting day begins the day before.

I find it exciting to pack the car before leaving for a shoot and if I get halfway there without remembering what I have left behind, that is a bonus which only adds to my general feeling
