HOW TO RECORD ACOUSTIC GUITAR

Acoustic guitar is one of the mainstays of modern music, and alongside piano, it’s one of the most popular instruments for budding musicians to learn to play – yet recording it can be a fiddly business. Often, putting a guitarist’s playing under the microscope reveals limitations in the instrument itself – such as tuning and intonation – alongside inadequacies in their playing, such as timing, string noise and tuning again.

Whether any of this is a problem or not depends on how important the guitar is to your track, and you may be able to mask some or all of these issues quite easily – your DAW includes plenty of audio editing
