Blocked doctors in fight with medical schemes

BLACK health-care practitioners who have been blocked by Discovery, Med-scheme and the Government Employees Medical Scheme (Gems) from providing a service to their clients and receiving payments want to be unblocked with immediate effect allowing them to see patients as soon as tomorrow.

The call comes after the release of an interim report by the Council for Medical Schemes’ Section 59 Investigation lead by advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi. The investigation looked into allegations of racial profiling and medical unfairness.
