Eyes in the SKY

In the traditions of Australia’s original astronomers, the expanse of stars in the sky serves as a textbook, a map, and a memory space for stories. Star stories are encoded in law and lore, informing moral values through song, dance, and songlines. These stories describe the interactions of people, animals and the landscape, which contain information necessary to understand the world around us. They also play an important role in the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
