    The Journey Begins

    The Journey Begins Welcome, dear readers, to the mesmerizing world of the dinosaurs of the Jurassic. With each turn of the page, we embark on a thrilling adventure, tracing the footsteps of these magnificent creatures that once roamed the Earth millions of years ago.

    The Jurassic Period is the second of three periods of the Mesozoic Era. The Morrison Formation in Colorado in the United States and the Solnhofen Limestone in southern Germany near the town of Slonhofen were formed during the Jurassic period. They are both famous for their exceptionally well-preserved fossils. It was during the Jurassic period when the supercontinent Pangea split apart into the continent of Laurentia and the continent of Gondwana. Laurentia will eventually split gain into North America and Eurasia. Gondwana will eventually split again twice into an eastern segment and a western segment. The eastern segment with split once more into Antarctica, India, Australia, and Madagascar. The western segment will split once more into Africa and South America. The splitting of the continent, along with warmer temperatures, encouraged the evolution of the reptiles into what came to be known as the dinosaurs.

    The Jurassic Period began approximately 201.4 million years ago, after the Triassic- Jurassic extinction event, which has been attributed to the eruption of  (CAMP) the Central Atlantic Magmatic or the Toarcian Oceanic Anoxic Event.  It ended approximately 145 million years ago with the Thithonian Extinction or the Jurassic-Cretaceous extinction event, which has been attributed to volcanic activity and/or asteroid impacts.

    Our journey begins amidst a lush landscape, rich with vibrant flora and teeming with life. It is in this primeval setting that these ancient giants first made their majestic entrance onto the stage of existence. As we delve into the depths of time, we encounter
