Demoina brought KZN to its knees
JUST as cyclone Eloise was heading towards the south-eastern African coastline this week, the deadly cyclone Demoina was heading in the same direction in the same week – 37 years ago.
Demoina formed off the coast of Madgascar on January 16 and headed towards the east coast of Africa, strengthening in the Mozambique channel before finally making landfall on January 28 in southern Mozambique.
