EXHAUSTING WORK

Having taken the MG 2’s input/PTO unit into the workshop, I have now got the sliding engagement dog for the PTO moving. This took the judicial application of some penetrating oil, a little heat from the blowlamp, and a few light blows with a copper hammer. The tin shroud around the input shaft came off easily. One screw was missing and the other two came undone without a fight. The shroud has suffered some abuse and will need a bit of TLC to get the dings out.

Steering levers

Both steering levers are bent, one more than the other. These should straighten with some applied heat. One appears to have been re-welded at some time and will need a little tidying up
