WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

From April 1973 (number 15) I compiled OM News and started writing for Old Motor itself in July 1973 (Volume 7:4) with an account of the Caledon lorry. I had recently acquired the only known example and had met a number of people involved in its Scottish manufacture whose story I will recount in these pages shortly.

Prince was increasingly involved with his Obsolete Fleet of buses used for film, promotional and actual passenger service. He became the first to entered a happy phase, though I’m not sure how the circulation compared with the days of volume sales and didn’t like to ask Prince in case he reduced my pay!
