Of all the buzzwords of 2020 – unprecedented times, challenges, social distancing – pivot is theCodes. The annual Codes program turned virtual with speakers Zooming in to share their pathways and lessons learned to succeed in the fields of STEM. Last November, the Codes Visionary Women’s Dinner was held at modern Thai restaurant Chin Chin in Sydney’s Surry Hills. Presented by Optus, the dinner was a culmination and celebration of the campaign, giving attendees a chance to meet fellow passionate innovators and advocates of the STEM realm. In between a four-course meal that included kingfish sashimi, duck pancakes and more, Codes editor Victoria Baker led an enlightening discussion with Felicity McVay, head of content partnerships at TikTok; Alyce Tran, co-founder of The Daily Edited and In The Roundhouse; and Theresa Eyssens, vice-president of customer solutions and cloud at Optus Enterprise.
