A hunt in the archives
In late 1955/early 1956, my Dad answered an advert for crew on the three-masted schooner Amphitrite. She was to sail from Falmouth in Devon to English Harbour, Antigua. His application was successful, and in late June 1956 my parents and I (aged just three) boarded for the voyage of a lifetime.
