INSIDE THE BLOCK

Everyone’s favourite reality reno show The Block dropped quite the plot twist this year by veering away from its usual format. This time around, the five Blockhead couples were given five very different themes for their home. Cue some quick thinking, smart planning and incredible designing and The Block’s Class of 2020, who appeared on season nine of Channel 9's show, sure proved it was a creative, resilient bunch!

We had a chat with each of this year’s Blockheads to find out how they approached their house and theme, and we picked their brains on all things kitchens and bathrooms. The Block has been confirmed to be returning in 2021, so feel free to admire these glorious spaces as you countdown to when The Block does it all over again.

HOUSE 1: HARRY AND TASH

KBQ: Tell us about the house you renovated on The Block.

H+T: We renovated a beautiful 1920s house. It is the first house of the five and it sits next to a neighbouring property. The house itself is set back the furthest from the street, which means we have a large front garden. It is also the most private as it has a north-facing yard, which means we get lovely natural light flooding through in the mornings, into our living, dining and kitchen areas and our upstairs hallway too.

KBQ: What do you like about 1920s design?
