Hugging my big sister Katrina, 18, I fought back tears.
‘I’ll miss you,’ I told her.
‘I’ll visit lots,’ she promised.
It was 1972, and our Trina was leaving home to start a new job in the Lake District.
It wouldn’t be the same without her. Aged 10, I looked up to her, as did my brothers George, 13, Stephen, 11, and John, 3.
Still, true to her word, Trina visited often.
