Ghosts in the machine

Well, it’s finally here. Perhaps the most highly-anticipated videogame of all’s preview cycle was long, involved and often controversial, featuring years of ambitious declarations, sensational demos and fierce debate about the game’s potential politics. Now that it’s out, the surreal punchline is that all anyone’s talking about is the bugs. From NPCs that follow you through the entire game, to gang members locked in floating t-poses, to trees growing all over every surface, the glitches are both endless and endlessly weird, as if the game itself has become subject to a malicious cyber-hack.
