What the hell just happened?

Last year was wild, right? As in, a shitfight-dumpster-fire-train-wreck-off-a-cliff wild. In that unprecedented 366 days, almost every national and international championship was either dramatically affected or outright cancelled by a microscopic virus. From 100-plus days of lockdowns to huge upheavals across the motorcycling industry, everyone will look back on the leap year and shake their heads at the chaotic times we lived through.

While it’s tempting to quickly snap the book shut on it all, erase the memories and look forward to a stock of the situation, reflect on what we’ve experienced and find the silver linings. As a magazine it’s also important that we capture and document all this stuff – both the clusterf**ks and the unexpected nuggets of gold – so that when people flick through this issue a few years down the track, there’s a comprehensive account of what we faced and lived through.
