YAMAHA HAS KILLED off the WR250R for MY21 despite the best efforts of Yamaha Australia, NSW tour operator rideADV and others to promote it as an adventure bike (we featured one of the builds, pictured below, in ADB #489). Yamaha Japan hasn’t done much to it since launching the model in 2008 but then it never sold by the truckload, which wasn’t helped by the rather steep asking price.

The bike put up with lots of abuse and could carry a big load thanks to its steel subframe ... bit like a donkey, but no one loves them. Does it mean that Yamaha’s going to be bringing out
