Clean eating allows you to take back control of what you put into your body—and primarily focuses on consuming whole foods that are minimally processed and as close to their natural form as possible. Elizabeth Woodard advises that no matter what food philosophy you are following, the bottom line is to keep it clean. “Nurturing oneself ultimately goes beyond food, but the plate is a great place to start,” says Woodard. “We are in a bit of a conundrum today where our food system offers a plethora of unhealthy processed food options designed to be addicting. The health food scene is also an overwhelming world to navigate. Everywhere you look there is a new health fad. Vegan, gluten-free, Paleo, Keto, intermittent fasting, they all started with great intentions but have been turned into dogmas and brands. How do you know what is right for you?
