    YOU WILL NEED:

    • Red earthenware clay – or clay of choice

    ▪ Selection of modelling tools and ribs for smoothing

    ▪ Wooden spatula

    ▪ Foam for support

    ▪ A selection of low fire glazes in five colours plus white and black

    ▪ Sponge shapes

    ▪ Brushes for glaze application, including a fine liner

    ▪ Latex resist

    ▪ Rubber or cork stopper for the underside (available from many ceramic suppliers)

    BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

    The shape of this piggy bank is roughly based on this stylised tin version, but you could make yours a different shape following the basic principles of the build if you prefer. Look for a good and detailed image and work from that.
