DIFFICULTY RATING

YOU WILL NEED:

Red earthenware clay – or clay of choice

Selection of modelling tools and ribs for smoothing

Wooden spatula

Foam for support

A selection of low fire glazes in five colours plus white and black

Sponge shapes

Brushes for glaze application, including a fine liner

Latex resist

Rubber or cork stopper for the underside (available from many ceramic suppliers)

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

The shape of this piggy bank is roughly based on this stylised tin version, but you could make yours a different shape following the basic principles of the build if you prefer. Look for a good and detailed image and work from that.
