Living with five children is like having Christmas every day, says Alex James.
“There’s a lot of noise and washing up. It’s my favourite time of year – I absolutely love it,” adds the Blur bassist turned cheesemaker turned festival host.
“We get to celebrate the things we like the most – lots of eating, lots of consumer indulgence, and the family all together.”
Our exclusive shoot and interview takes place at his sprawling 200-acre farm in the Cotswolds, which Alex shares with his wife Claire along with sons Geronimo, 16, and twins Artemas and Galileo, 14, and daughters Sable, 12, and Beatrix, ten. Also in residence is a menagerie of eight cats, two dogs, four pigs, chickens, ducks and countless sheep. “Most days I have to pick up a poo of some description,” he says.
