There were other massive records, like the County 1184TW (no. 48777) with 400 hours on the clock – at £71,000. This was the ‘sister’ to the example that Malcolm Beaton sold for £54,000 just two weeks before. Bert’s was in much better condition in my opinion.

Another thumping record was £21,500 for a 1964 Roadless New Performance Major that I wrote in my programme was in grade 4 condition. It made £21,500! On top of that was the £41,000 paid for a County Super-4 754 with Select-OSpeed transmission (no. 20392). This is a rare County!

If that wasn’t enough, when it came to Massey Fergusons, a 1976 MF 188 Multi-Power (no. 3666606), registered LJL 287P with just 2,708 hours on the clock and with PAVT wheels and cab) sold for £39,000! That was £17,000 more than its pre-sale estimate.

On the David Brown front a Trackmaster 50 with a Blaw-Knox blade and matt paintwork made a good £8,000, but a grade 4.8 DB 50D
