Force field

Ian Linch has a great track record as an excellent ploughman, enjoying tremendous success along the way, but besides his passion for turning a furrow he has always managed to find restoration projects to occupy his spare time when it’s not match ploughing season.

These are not just show tractors though, as Ian is not afraid to get them dirty – they are part of his match-winning formula. Over the years, Ford models have been his main focus, but there have been other notable examples – including an IH B-414 (see T&M September 2015).

Ian’s love affair with tractors began in the 1970s, when he worked on farms using Massey Ferguson 35s and 165s, before moving on to a Ford 7600 – now one of his favourite models.
