A NEW APPROACH REAPS THE REWARDS FOR SUTTON

Ash Sutton told Motorsport News earlier this year that he needed to claim a second British Touring Car Championship title. The 2017 title winner is already chomping his way up the all-time race winners’list and has 19 under his belt in three different types of car. He is equal 16th in those standings.

But it is the overall crown he is interested in and so switching to the heavily reworked Laser Tools Racing team to drive an Infiniti Q50 for 2020 seemed like a sideways step – and potentially a huge risk.

The Laser Tools team, driven by the foresight of some of the best engineering brains in the paddock and the vision of team leader Bob Moffat, bit off a lot for this season.
