Code reader advice
Q I after purchasing a code reader/reset tool for our cars anc don’t know which would be best or even if it’s possible to get just one code reader. I’m budgeting on around £150. The cars I need to cover are:
BMW 3 series F30 2014 SEAT Mii 2014
Porsche Boxster 981 2013 Hyundai i10 2009
Ford Focus Mk2 2007 Mazda MX-5 Mk3 2007
Any help advice would be appreciated.

A For basic code reading on the engine systems as all the vehicles you have listed are post-2004 they are all EOBD compliant and so a reader such as the Foxwell NT301 Diagnostic Scan Tool at £69 would cover all the basic needs.
However, as the service indicator on the Porsche can only be reset using diagnostic equipment, you will want a unit that can cope with that operation.
Stepping slightly above your budget the Foxwell NT680 Lite Enthusiast Level Diagnostic System at £199 will not only reset the service indicator but also covers SRS (airbag), ABS and Automatic Gearbox functions on a range of over 60 vehicles. This will give you a lot more flexibility on the vehicles you are looking after.
Both tools are available from this website gendan.co.uk and it is always worth phoning them for a chat over your specific requirements as they can then give you a full run down of the units on offer.
