Introvert or extrovert?

I THINK WE’RE all familiar with the phrase ‘stubborn as a mule’. To my mind, whoever first coined this expression was having trouble with their own way of thinking and it had absolutely nothing to do with the mule.

In equestrianism there is a common pattern among some owners, riders and handlers that lays blame firmly on the horse. Equines are sometimes referred to as ‘obstinate’ or ‘stubborn’ by a particular individual if they aren’t compliant with that person’s wishes when, in effect, the animal has shut down, tuned out, or is experiencing feelings of worry and insecurity.
