Strength in softness

IN THE late 1970s, Stephen Sheard and Simon Cockin went into partnership to produce weaving kits for sale to craft markets around the UK. They named the business Rowan, inspired by the beautiful shrubs lining the banks of the river Holme in Yorkshire, an area deeply entwined in Britain’s textile heritage.
