BASED IN the north-east of England, Brambles & Me is a natural dye business owned and run by Mia Malone. Mia’s colourways are produced using natural dye extracts in shades inspired by nature. We chatted with Mia about how she established herself as an indie dyer, and how she creates her colours.

When did you first try dyeing yarn?

“I found a love of hand-dyeing while studying for my fashion degree - I began by dyeing plain fabrics and hand-printing them to use for my own garment designs.
