Mary Sanchez: The Force vs. The Squad and other brawls congressional women should avoid

Nothing like a girl fight to undermine women’s accomplishments.

But an invitation to ogle women going after each other _ reminiscent of schoolyards and barrooms _ is being issued for the 117th Congress, which will see a record number of women serving, largely due to gains by Republicans.

Pathetically, the call for a verbal throwdown is originating from some of the newly elected women.

“The Force” would like to challenge “The Squad.”

Incoming GOP Congressional members Maria Elvira Salazar of Florida, Nicole Malliotakis of New York and Victoria Spartz of Indiana are onboard.

“We need to form our own ‘Squad,’” Malliotakis is widely quoted as saying. “We have a group of new Republicans who love America. We value freedom, liberty and opportunity.”

Salazar has been equally vocal, launching this gem: “We are the FORCE for good, a FORCE for freedom, a FORCE for democracy — a FORCE to be reckoned with!”
