Yvan might be a brilliant motorcycle guide in Auvergne, France, who “knows each stone by its first name” but in Croatia he takes a back seat to Goran, because here stones can explode. The Eastern European country went through a bloody civil war that ended in 1995, but many land mines remain.
Since that war, in which 20,000 died, the country has joined the EU and begun luring European tourists to its magnificent cities like Zagreb and Dubrovnik. But Yvan, Laurent and I are looking for an untouched region on our two Yamaha WR250Rs and one TT-R and, resting on the shores of the Adriatic Sea, we find it.
