‘The fashion industry has been hit harder by the impact of Covid-19 probably than any other industry. When retail around the world closed there was tumbleweed rolling down every high street. Consumer habits changed overnight: there were no dinner or cocktail parties, no need to get dressed up to go to work. It had a huge impact on sales as well as the supply chain, from factory workers to the demand for raw materials.

Last year we contributed £35bn to the GDP, and estimates are that it will be put back to £26bn.
