    THIS is an unsung treasure of an AONB, glimpsed by many people only from the interminable jams that blight this stretch of the A303 on the Devon-Somerset border. If motorists were to, J. D. U. Ward predicted the area was about to be designated; in fact, it took until 1991, perhaps due to its quieter beauty and lack of famed landmarks.
