WORDS AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY DUNDEE WOODS
During the early 1990s, I worked for a company in Redmond, Washington, and drove a black-and-flamed 1941 Ford pickup. One day during lunch, I was buying gas and was approached by a man who asked if I’d be willing to rent. Seemed like a good idea, so I followed him to the nearby production offices where they took photos and papers were signed. My only request was that I drive the truck, to which they agreed. As a driver I would be paid $125 per day while the ’41 got $250 per day.
