The amount of times that people have asked me what those two red stripes on the right shoulder of the J-One jacket are for… Modern kit is so complex that to have something ‘just for looks’ doesn’t really register any more.
But just because the red stripes don’t do anything other than look pretty, that doesn’t mean that the rest of the garment is lacking in functionality. In fact, it’s rather packed full of it.
There’s one thing you should know about the jacket and trousers before we go any further, and that is that they are designed to have a three-layer approach to tackle all possible riding scenarios. There’s the main jacket and trousers, external waterproof layers for both, and internal thermal layers, which are included for the jacket, but sold separately for the trousers (£60).
