As we lifted the new 8K-ready Denon AVC-X3700H home cinema amplifier from its box, we’re sure we detected a small part of us that would have delighted in the Japanese company messing this one up – purely so we would have something different to write about one of its products. Unfortunately for that mean-spirited part of us, the sonic improvement over last year’s excellent, Product of the Year model is marked.
The new HDMI section is perhaps most important in terms of futureproofing; one of the AVC-X3700H’s seven inputs and two of its three outputs are full HDMI 2.1 sockets
