COREY TAYLOR

THE FORUM, LOS ANGELES

Slipknot’s unstoppable frontman unleashes a new spectrum of showmanship

TWO SONGS INTO his solo global livestream, Corey Taylor steps gleefully up to the mic. “Look at all you people here tonight!” he roars. The camera pans back to reveal a deserted LA Forum. “All you people out there having a great goddamn time, make some noise!”

Those shots of the cavernous venue, plus pre-show footage of Corey and his band in facemasks (not masks), having their temperature taken on, by tapping into the hard-partying, go-big-or-go-home spirit of the songs, and livestreaming a full-blown rock’n’roll show from an empty 17,500-capacity arena, crammed with lights, pyro and fire-breathing dancers.
