Billy bounces back from mid-Atlantic rescue

Solo skipper Billy Brannan, who had to abandon his home when his yacht dismasted mid Atlantic, is getting back on his feet.

The 63-year-old was rescued by the 69,000-tonne Panamax tanker, Seways Raymar, after his Vancouver 34 Pilot Helena was knocked down during a storm (YM, September 2020).

After recuperating with family and friends in Tollesbury, Essex, Billy moved into his new boat, a 1987 Freedom 35 called Merlin in early September.
