We have all thought of ourselves as the unluckiest golfer on the planet at times. This may have been after rounds where everything that could go wrong did go wrong, more prolonged spells where all the breaks seemed to go against us or when some other terrible golfing fate befell us.

It’s that kind of game, and although skill generally prevails, sometimes good shots turn out bad, bad shots turn out good, other players enjoy extreme fortune at critical moments or the golfing gods conspire against us.
