ON THE ROAD AGAIN
The RV industry has been through the wringer over the last few months thanks to COVID-19. Dealerships and manufacturers of caravans, campers and motorhomes, as well as other associated service-based and accessory supply companies have had their operations disrupted as government-enforced lockdowns shuttered sales yards, customers were home-bound, and borders slammed shut.
Every Australian state and territory has had its own experience as measures dictated by respective governments differed. Of course, as we reported in the last issue of Caravan World, the extended stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne meant the majority of Australia’s RV manufacturers had to down tools for nearly two months as the virus ripped across the state. As around 90 per cent of all vans are manufactured in Victoria, that has had a significant impact on supply across the country.
