FORE AND AFT PLACEMENT OF the saddle is perhaps one of the trickiest components of a good bike position to derive accurately. Proper balance in terms of seat setback can almost never be found by a mathematical equation, or by an angle-based measurement of the rider’s torso or hip, and must instead be “felt” by the rider and visualised accurately by the bike fitting professional.
