Seven months ago Jon Bon Jovi was in rockstar mode as he prepared to drop his band’s 15th album and launch a tour. But by March he was a worried father and husband.
As the coronavirus went from a looming crisis to a terrifying reality, “I said, ‘We’ve got to get out of town. We’ve got to get all the kids back,’” Jon, 58, recalls of his conversation with wife Dorothea Bongiovi (whose married name is the actual spelling of Jon’s last name). Soon the pandemic began to devastate New York City, and the pair left Manhattan with their youngest son, Romeo, 16, to shelter in their Red Bank, New Jersey, home and regrouped with their older children, Stephanie, 27, and Jesse, 25, who were travelling for work, and Jacob, 18, then away at boarding school.
