New driver Dan blazes a trail for young volunteers

DAN Wigg has just qualified as the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway’s (G/WR) youngest steam driver, at the age of 24.

October 3 saw him passed out on WR 4-6-0 No. 7903 Foremarke Hall, and not only did he fulfil a childhood dream, but continued a big family tradition.

His grandfather was a fitter at the former Great Western locomotive depot at Horton Road, Gloucester and his father Greg is a trustee of the Restoration & Archiving Trust at Toddington
