Fuel for thought…

And so – let’s get back to my Yamaha TX750. Well, the fuel feed seemed to be all in order so it was time to look at the carburettors.

Unlike the TX500, the carb set up is very simple as there is no mechanical linkage with opening and closing cables for the throttle. Instead, a separate cable leads from the twist grip to each carb, with synchronisation dealt with by an adjuster on each cable. This is not the most accurate way to synchronise, but it does make it very easy to disconnect the cables and hence remove the carbs.

Looking at the tops, we see that the carbs are branded as
