3/8, ½, 7/16 inch AF sockets and spanners, scrapper, screwdrivers, soft faced mallet, drain tray.

DIFFICULTY

Water pump failure is an all too common problem on the Mini, noticeable from either a leak, engine over heating or a noisy bearing. Replacing it is a fairly simple task once you get to it, but to do that, you do need to drain and remove the radiator, as well as the alternator. To make access easier and avoid hitting your head over and over again it’s also a good idea to remove both the bonnet and grille.
