Needing a regular babysitter for her daughter Olivia, aged 5, Marta Dworakowski scoured the ads in her local Polish-speaking newspaper.
She quickly found the services of Elzbieta Plackowska – a married mum-of-two who was looking for childcare work.
The women agreed that Elzbieta would bring her youngest – Justin, 7 – to Marta’s home in Naperville, Illinois, USA, so he and Olivia could play together, and Elzbieta would also look after the family’s two dogs.
Little Olivia even came to refer affectionately to Elzbieta as ‘Aunty’.
