The Sunny f/16 Rule

In the early days of photography, most cameras did not have what we know as ‘exposure meter’ or ‘light meter’. Along with the film, came instructions on how to set the exposures depending on the light intensity and weather conditions. Film speed was marked as ASA and not ISO as we have today. The instruction sheet had small icons showing the weather conditions and what aperture to set as per the weather condition.

As long as you paid attention to the time of the day and the weather conditions, this was a fool-proof method to get ‘correct’
