“I love roses of all sorts, from the many-petalled extravagance of garden roses to the elegant simplicity of the single wild roses that inspired this quilt. Choosing muted prints for the checkered background and leaves allowed the prints I chose for my rose blocks to take centre stage. I combined new and vintage prints – gingham, dots, romantic florals and novelty prints – in varying shades of red to contrast with a Liberty Wiltshire Shadow background in grey to give my Briars a warm, wintery
